Main Characters

“The truth is, gift or no gift, I am just as special as the rest of my family.”

Mirabel is the youngest daughter of Julieta and Agustín Madrigal and youngest sister of Isabela and Luisa, who has the distinction of being the only Madrigal by birth without a magical gift. However, when the miracle begins to fade, Mirabel takes it upon herself to save the magic, learning about hidden familial troubles along the way.

“Did someone say flowers?”

Isabela is the eldest daughter of Agustin and Julieta Madrigal, and the older sister of Luisa and Mirabel. Described as “Señorita Perfecta” by her youngest sister, Isabela is the golden child of the Madrigal family, whose gift is the power to conjure beautiful flowers and plants.

“I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous, I'm as tough as the crust of the earth is.”

Luisa is the middle child of Julieta and Agustín Madrigal, the younger sister of Isabela and the older sister of Mirabel. A strapping bodybuilder who is described as the “rock” of the family, Luisa was gifted with super strength.

“I was given a miracle… a second chance. And I was so afraid to lose it… that I lost sight of who our miracle was for…”

A woman whom was blessed with a gift-granting Miracle Candle, Abuela is the matriarch of the Madrigals, the mother of Julieta, Pepa and Bruno and the grandmother of Isabela, Dolores, Luisa, Camilo, Mirabel and Antonio. As the original source of its magic, Abuela also serves as the head of the enchanted village in which she and her family resides.

"And I saw the magic in danger, our house breaking, and then I saw you. But the vision was different. It…it would change and there was no one answer, no clear fate. Like your future was undecided…"

Bruno is the only son and youngest child of Alma and Pedro Madrigal, with the gift to see into the future. Bruno’s odd demeanor, affinity for rats, and often doomsaying visions had distinguished him as the “black sheep” of the Madrigals, resulting in his estrangement from the family. Following his disappearance, it became taboo to mention Bruno, who was reviled as a villainous figure by the townsfolk until his deep-rooted love for his family was unearthed.
